Social Media Strategies for Events and Tradeshows

freeman introduces new blog on social media for events

Our good friend (and partner) Freeman has launched a new blog. It’s titled “event Social” and covers social media strategies for events and tradeshows.

Kicking It Off with a Case Study

The first post on “event Social” is a case study about The NAFEM Show (2011), the biennial event for The North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers.

Jay Jones (@jjonesN) highlights the deployment of social and mobile technologies for the show attendees:

  1. NAFEM Social: Once you register for the show, see who in your social graph is also attending – and, have the optoin of inviting others to join you (great idea).
  2. Online Show Planner: A convenient, web-based tool to plan your show activities.
  3. NAFEM Mobile: Similar to the online show planner, but conveniently placed on your mobile device.

With the convergence of new and innovative technologies, it’s a great time to be in the events business. If you’d like to come along for the ride, bookmark the “event Social” blog: (or, subscribe to its RSS feed).
